Earlier this year, a new chapter began for Europe’s smart communities. Over the next four years, 22 organizations from across the continent will work together to address two major challenges identified in today’s digital ecosystem:

• The need for ICT professionals to focus more on designing resilient solutions for smart communities
• The lack of green, digital, and cybersecurity skills within public administrations working in this domain

ahedd Digital Innovation Hub S.A. of NCSR “DEMOKRITOS” has stepped up to take on this challenge. With a strong, balanced mix of expertise spanning Artificial Intelligence, data-driven innovation, and public-sector digital transformation, our team is joining the new SMARCO – Smart Communities Skills Development in Europe project, funded by Erasmus+.

A strong start in Brussels

The consortium officially kicked off the project during a two-day meeting on February 19–20 in Brussels. Partner organizations gathered for the first time to align priorities, define the roadmap, and lay the foundation for the work that will take place over the next 48 months.

This initial meeting set the tone for a collaborative effort focused on improving the skills, tools, and methodologies needed to build more resilient, efficient, and sustainable smart communities across Europe.
